The funeral has taken place of Owen McKenna, the Monaghan man who died in the New Zealand earthquake on 22 February last.
The remains of the 41-year-old father-of-two were brought from the family home to the Sacred Heart church at Carrickroe, Emyvale, Co Monaghan.
The chief mourners at today's ceremony were his mother Teresa, brothers Kieran, Enda and Brendan and sisters Bernadette, Maria, Angela and Catherine.
Mr McKenna's wife Sarah and children, six-year-old Grace and four-year-old Tadgh, did not travel for today's ceremony but watched it live online surrounded by family and friends in New Zealand.
His coffin was draped with the flag of his local GAA club, Gael Triucha. It was his wish to be buried in his home parish.
The New Zealand government was represented by the country's honorary consul in Ireland, Alan McCarthy.
Two drawings by Mr McKenna's children were placed on his coffin for the burial.
