The British government is set to delay the publication of the inquiry report into how police in Northern Ireland handled the sectarian murder of Catholic man Robert Hamill.
Mr Hamill, who was 25, was beaten to death by a loyalist mob in the centre of Portadown in 1997.
No one has ever been convicted of his murder.
Northern Ireland Secretary of State Owen Paterson says the report of a public inquiry into the murder has now been shelved following a decision to proceed with prosecutions against three people, including a former police officer, in connection with the case.
The report was to have been published within weeks.
