Engineering experts from England were due in Kinsale today to assist gardaí in the investigation into the death of Miriam Reidy.
Ms Reidy's body was discovered in the Trident Hotel in the Cork town on Sunday afternoon.
It is suspected that the 35-year-old banker from west Limerick died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Her sister Patricia remains in a stable condition at Cork University Hospital after she was also found unconscious in the hotel room.
Among the areas to be examined by the experts will be the hotel's boiler system.
Following the post mortem examination yesterday, gardaí said they would have to wait for the results of toxicology tests before an exact cause of death would be known.
Gardaí will also examine reports that Ms Reidy was seen by a doctor hours before her death.
They will try to find out if there is any link between Ms Reidy's death and an earlier visit by another doctor to a couple staying in a room directly above the sisters' room.
The 75-room Trident Hotel remains cordoned off and staff have been told that it will remain closed until the technical investigation is complete.
