Labour leader Eamon Gilmore has said he believes there is a very real prospect of a Labour-led government following the next General Election.
Mr Gilmore ruled out his party joining with Fianna Fáil to form the next Government, and he also said he was not open to a coalition involving Sinn Féin.
He said the most likely outcome after the election is a government made up of Fine Gael and Labour.
He said he would put down a motion of no confidence in the current Government, if it did not call a General Election soon.
