Clare County Council

Demand for water is exceeding supply capacity on most water supplies in County Clare.

Water will be cut off at the following locations:
- Doora, Barefield, Crusheen, Lahinch Road, Shanaway Road. Clare Road(area around St Flannan’s College) Tulla Road including Spancilhill Group Water Scheme and Gort Road, Quin Road (from Railway Bridge out) Ennis from 8pm to 8am

- Shannon, Newmarket on Fergus, Sixmilebridge, Kilmurray, Kilkishen, Bunratty, Cratloe, Quin and Tulla from 10pm to 10am

- O’Briensbridge, Clonlara, Broadford, Shannon Banks, Westbury, Parteen, Ardnacrusha, Coolisteigue from 8pm to 8am

- Westbury Estate and Tulla Village may be shut off from 2pm to 6pm today essential repairs.

- New Quay, Corofin, Ruan, Ennistymon, Lahinch, Liscannor, Lisdoonvarna, Doolin and Fanore from 11.30pm to 8am.

Standpipes will continue to operate at the following locations from 10am to 12pm each day until further notice

Ennis/Clarecastle: Cappahard, Tulla Road Health Centre, Clarecastle
Shannon Gleann an Oir
Cratloe Wood Cross, Cratloe from 1pm to 3pm each day until further notice

Tankers will supply water to the following locations each day until further notice at the time specified:

Crusheen, Village Centre - 4pm to 6pm

The Council’s Emergency number (should only be used to report major bursts and leaks in public areas) is 087-4169496 which operates from 5pm each evening to 9.30am the next morning. This number is to facilitate emergencies only such as leaks in the public areas.

The Council is aware that many individual households do not have water in many areas of the county. The Council is working continuously to restore supplies to all areas.

Donegal County Council

Planned overnight restrictions are to be introduced to some water supplies for tonight.

Tanker Supply

The tanker supply for public use at the Hill View Housing Estate, Lismonaghan, Letterkenny has been stood down
as mains service continues to improve in that general area

Standpipe Supply

A stand-pipe supply for public use continues to operate at Daly's Filling Station, Lifford

GLENTIES ELECTORAL AREA
Water supplies will be restricted in the following areas from 10pm until 8am (these restrictions arise from burst watermains which are being repaired)

Leittermacaward to Dungloe
Ardara to Kilclooney

Water Service staff are currently responding to burst water mains in the Gortahork area which will affect local service until later in afternoon.

DONEGAL ELECTORAL AREA
No Planned overnight restrictions to water supplies

STRANORLAR ELECTORAL AREA
Water supplies will be restricted in the following areas from 6pm until 8am.

Ballybofey and Stranorlar - supply will also be turned off to the Twin Towns from midnight until 8am each night

INISHOWEN ELECTORAL AREA
No Planned overnight restrictions to water supplies. There may be interruptions in the Quigley's Point/Drung/Iskaheen areas where demand remains very high.

Water Service staff are currently responding to burst water mains in the Carrigans area which will affect local service until later in the day.

LETTERKENNY ELECTORAL AREA
No Planned overnight restrictions to water supplies

Meath County Council

1pm - Meath Co Council is pleased to report today that water supply has been restored across the County. However, we are cautioning people that further problems may reoccur at any time as the demand for water remains high and there is a continued risk of burst pipes. Water supplies continue to be closely monitored by Council staff and any identified leaks to mains supply are being repaired as soon as possible. There are still significant leaks on private sites and it is very important that these leaks are repaired. We are repeating our appeal to householders, schools, business key holders and farmers to check unoccupied premises for leaks and have them repaired or turn off the supply.

We are also appealing to people to conserve water for essential use and to report any leaks and water wastage to the Council.

Westmeath Co Council

12pm - Westmeath County Council is continuing work to repair leaks on the Annagh Supply. A limited water supply was restored during Friday afternoon. It is planned to recommence the Annagh Supply, including estates on the Ballymahon Road, at approximately 1.00 pm Saturday 1st January 2011.

This will be for a limited duration & will be shut down by 6.00pm Saturday. It is planned to recommence the Annagh Supply at midday on Sunday morning, subject to the reservoirs being replenished to a satisfactory level.

Every effort is continuing to be made to identify and repair these bursts.

A water supply is being maintained to the town centre area of Athlone including Irishtown to Castlemain St, and the Montree/Beechpark/ Assumption Park Avenue areas.
The Coosan supply, serving the north side of Athlone, is operating and will be maintained for the foreseeable future.

The Batteries Supply, serving the west side of Athlone is operating and will be maintained for the foreseeable future.

All water consumers are advised that nightly water supply shut offs will continue in order to replenish water levels in Council reservoirs for the next 5 to 7 nights.

Water Supply – Moate
The water supply to Moate has been restored.

Please Report all Leaks
Water consumers are advised that a large number of leaks have occurred following the adverse weather. This is resulting in water outages and reduced pressures. As water supplies return to properties, owner should continuously check for leaks within these properties.

The Council is working to deal with these leaks as quickly as possible. It may be necessary for the Council to implement emergency shut offs without warning in order to ensure that reservoir levels are maintained and to facilitate repairs.

Water Supply – Mullingar Regional Water Supply Scheme.
Water Supply in Ballinagore & Kilbeggan Areas
Water main bursts are affecting water supplies to the Kilbeggan town, Ballinagore and surrounding areas. Rapairs are currently underway.

General Water Shut Off Saturday 1st January
Due to the recent severe weather conditions and the depletion in treated water levels it is intended to close parts of the Mullingar Regional Water Supply Scheme tonight, Saturday, 1st January 2011 in order to conserve water and to allow water storage levels to be replenished in the reservoirs.
• Supply to the Milltownpass, Rochfortbridge and Tyrellspass areas, will be will be shut off from 4.00pm Saturday 1st January & will be restored from 9.00am Saturday 2nd January.
• Supply to the environs of Mullingar, including most housing estates, will be will be shut off from 7.00pm Saturday 1st January & will be restored from 9.00am Saturday 2nd January.
• Supply to the Ballinagore, Kilbeggan and Horseleap areas will be shut off from 7.00pm Saturday 1st January & will be restored from 9.00am Sunday 2nd January.
• Supplies to the Killucan, Rathwire & Kinnegad areas will be shut off from 7.00pm Saturday 1st January & will be restored from 9.00am Sunday 2nd January.
• Supplies to the Ballinalack, Streete, Lismacaffrey and Rathowen areas will be shut off from 7.00pm Saturday 1st January & will be restored from 9.00am Sunday 2nd January.
All water consumers are advised that nightly water supply shut offs will continue in order to replenish water levels in Council reservoirs for the next 5 to 7 nights.

Water Supply – Coole/Lough Lene Regional Water Supply Scheme
Water Main Burst affecting Coole
A water main burst in the Simonstown area is affecting water supplies to Coole village and surrounding areas. Repairs are underway, however it is anticipated that supply will not be restored until 6.00 pm Saturday at the earliest.

General Water Shut Off Saturday 1st January
Due to the recent severe weather conditions and the depletion in treated water levels it is intended to close the outlet from the reservoirs in the Coole Area tonight, Saturday 1st January, in order to conserve water and to allow water storage levels to be replenished in the reservoirs.

This will affect water supply to the most areas supplied by the Lough Lene Regional Water Supply Scheme & includes Castlepollard, Delvin, Collinstown, Clonmellon.

Water Supply Standpipe Update
Westmeath County Council is endeavouring to maintain an uninterrupted water supply to all its customers, however due to the unprecedented cold spell many householders are experiencing problems due to frozen water pipes. No shut offs of water mains have taken place & water is not frozen in public water mains.

Please contact a plumber before attempting to defrost frozen pipes.

If your water supply has frozen you should
• source water from your neighbours
• go to a water standpipe using your own water containers.
