An Ipsos MRBI poll for today's Irish Times reveals that a majority of Irish people support the EU/IMF bailout.
51% of those surveyed welcomed the support of the EU and the IMF, while 37% were opposed to it.
On the question of the surrender of sovereignty, 56% said accepting the bailout meant sovereignty was lost, while 33% disagreed.
The poll was conducted on Monday and Tuesday of this week among voters in all 43 constituencies.
Voters were also asked whether it was better to be part of the European Union during the current economic crisis, and 69% of the 1,000 voters surveyed said that it was.
22% said we would be better off outside the EU.
Asked if they believed an alternative Fine Gael-Labour government would have done a better job with the public finances, 38% said they would, 42% said they would not, and 20% said they did not know.
