The Dáil has passed a bill which will see the dissolution of the Office of Tobacco Control.
The functions of the OTC will be transferred to the Health Service Executive on 1 January 2011.
The bill received cross-party support and during the debate this morning, Deputies took the opportunity to warn about the dangers of smoking.
