Dublin City Council has announced a further three nights of water restrictions.
A council spokesman said that there was only a marginal improvement in water reserves over the weekend and that further restrictions between 7pm and 7am will be needed until Wednesday at least.
Similar restrictions, which involved water cut-offs or reduced supply, will be in place this evening in Fingal, South Dublin, Dún Laoghaire/Rathdown, Kildare and Wicklow council areas.
Dublin City Council is dealing with 10 to 12 breakages in the water system each day and needs to build up reserves ahead of anticipated high demand at Christmas and in January.
The Council says it will look at ways of later restriction times if required over the weekend to faciliate pubs and restaurants during a busy time of the year.
