An electronic pedestrian traffic light sign in Washington is getting the attention of local residents because it mistakenly gives them the middle finger.

The crossing sign, located in downtown Spokane, mysteriously shows a hand with an upraised middle finger when the 'Don't Walk' hand is supposed to be displayed.

City of Spokane spokesperson Marlene Feist says personnel from the street department believe snow may be wedged in the electronic sign, hiding all but the palm and raised middle finger.

She also said that it was clearly 'unintentional'.
