A California woman has become the first human to have embryonic stem cells injected into her brain in an attempt to cure cancer.
Dr Karen Aboody, Researcher at California's City of Hope Hospital, has been working on a revolutionary new cancer treatment for brain tumours called glioblastomas.
'It's like the first step on the moon and it would just be the beginning', she said.
Patient Jenn Vonckx said she would have preferred if there had been a few people going through the procedure before her.
It will be months before doctors know if the treatment has been successful.
