Accounting and consulting firm Ernst and Young says it plans to hire more than 300 workers in Ireland over the next 18 months.
It is hiring for various roles including those for recent graduates, accountants, tax specialists and senior executives.
Ernst and Young says its expansion is a response to new business opportunities ahead of the start of an economic recovery in Ireland.
The company already employs 1,100 people in the Republic and Northern Ireland and the new jobs will be at the company's offices in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Waterford and Belfast.
Half of the new jobs are for recent graduates and it is hoped all of the positions will be filled within 18 months.
A hundred new jobs will be at its advisory business and 50 are top jobs in areas like tax, accountancy and advisory services.
Elsewhere, US insurance company Global Indemnity is to set up an IT development operation in Cavan, creating 30 jobs over the next five years.
In Co Galway, 50 new jobs are to be created by Joyce's Supermarket at a new store due to open in Tuam in early December.
The new store will be the fourth supermarket operated by the group in the county. The new supermarket in the Tuam Shopping Centre will replace Costcutters, which closed down several months ago.
