Computer manufacturer Hewlett Packard is planning to create 120 high-technology, multilingual jobs at its enterprise division in Dublin.

50 of the jobs are available immediately. The other 70 depend on whether Ireland is able to come up with the qualified individuals to fill them.

Prospective workers will need language skills, such as French, German and Italian.

HP Ireland Managing Director Martin Murphy called on the Government to draw up a clearly-defined job creation plan in which business leaders should have an input.

Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Mr Murphy said such a strategy was key to promoting economic recovery.

Separately, a new pre-paid mobile network was launched today.

Just Mobile is creating 25 jobs now, and could add up to another 70 over the next two years.

One cent a minute of each call on the Just Mobile is donated to the user's charity of choice.

40 charities have signed up to the network so far.
