Aer Lingus cabin crew will work-to-rule

Aer Lingus - No immediate disruption to services

Cabin crew at Aer Lingus who are members of the IMPACT trade union have served notice of industrial action from tomorrow week, in a row over new rosters.

Management and the union have been engaged in discussions on how to implement an arbitration finding by Labour Relations Commission Chief Executive Kieran Mulvey on new rosters aimed at increasing the flying hours of cabin crew to 850 hours a year.

However it is understood that due to a number of contentious issues the IMPACT Cabin Crew Branch Committee decided they had no option but to withdraw from the talks and serve notice of industrial action.

It is expected that the industrial action will take the form of a work-to-rule whereby they will revert to their original rosters.

The union said it did not expect any immediate disruption to services for passengers.
