The Quartet of Middle East peace negotiators is to call for an extension of the Israeli government's settlement moratorium in the West Bank.
The Quartet is expected to say the freeze in construction has had a positive impact as Israel and the Palestinians renew efforts to reach a peace deal.
The Quartet comprises the US, the EU, the UN and Russia.
A statement is due to be issued today after a meeting on the margins of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The Palestinians have said they will drop out of the latest peace talks, launched in Washington earlier this month, unless the settlement freeze continues.
