Ten crew members have been rescued from a French fishing vessel that ran aground off the Co Kerry coast early this morning.

The vessel was at the entrance to Dingle Harbour when the incident occurred.

The LE Ciara and the Coastguard inshore lifeboat took the crew members ashore. They are all reported to be safe and well.

The Valentia and Dingle lifeboats were also involved in the rescue operation.

It is hoped the vessel can be refloated this afternoon.
