A record number of premises were closed for breaches of food regulations last month.
Environmental health officers served orders on 13 businesses.
The Food Safety Authority described the figure as hugely disappointing and said that dirty premises, unhygienic practices and improper storage of food will not be tolerated.
The closure orders were served on eight premises in Dublin, two in Roscommon, and on outlets in Kildare, Offaly and Wicklow.
The Kildare outlet was a Chinese fast food stall at the Oxygen festival in Punchestown.
Four food stalls in Dún Laoghaire were also closed.
A successful prosecution was also carried on The Hogan Stand Butcher Shop, Unit 2, Lyster House, Lyster Square, Portlaoise, Laois.
The Food Safety Authority warned all food business operators to place robust food safety systems and hygiene practices top of their agenda.
The authority insisted that it is unacceptable that some food businesses are continuing to breach food safety laws.
