The opening of a new community hospital in Dingle, Co Kerry, has been postponed indefinitely by the Health Service Executive.
The postponement is due to a delay in securing registration for the facility from the Health Information and Quality Authority.
The hospital is unlikely to open for several months after HIQA expressed 'serious' concerns about a number of issues there.
The facility was built at a cost of more than €16m.
