The funerals of four more victims of Sunday's car crash in Co Donegal have taken place today.

Paul Doherty, Eamonn McDaid, Ciaran Sweeney and Damien McLaughlin have all been laid to rest.

Mr Doherty was buried in Clonmany this morning, on what would have been his 20th birthday.

In Buncrana this afternoon, Mr McLaughlin, who was 21, was laid to rest side-by-side with his friend, 22-year-old Mr McDaid, who was buried after funeral mass this morning.

The funeral mass of Mr McDaid heard a plea for young people to live life with care.

Parish Priest Fr John Walsh told young people at the mass at St Mary's Church in Cockhill that they are not indestructible, but are very fragile.

At the funeral of 19-year-old Mr Sweeney in Clonmany this afternoon, his father, Eamonn, described him as a wonderful son and brother.

He said his family wants it to be perfectly clear that they do not blame the driver of the car Shaun Kelly, or anyone else for the loss of their son. He added that the Kelly family will always be welcomed into the Sweeney home with open arms.

Mr Kelly remains in a serious condition in hospital.

The community will gather again in Clonmany tomorrow for the funeral of 23-year-old James McEleney.

The eight men died when two cars collided on the Buncrana to Clonmany road at 10.40pm on Sunday night.

Seven of the dead men were travelling in one car, while 66-year-old Hugh Friel died as he drove home from bingo.

Mr Friel, Mark McLaughlin and PJ McLaughlin, both aged 21, were buried yesterday.
