23 killed in Ugandan explosions

Two separate explosions hit the Ugandan capital Kampala tonight, killing at least 23 people.

Police said the explosions hit two restaurants.

A spokesperson said 13 people were killed at the Ethiopian Village restaurant and at least 10 people are reported to have died at a venue known as the rugby club.

Police said there were many casualties at both blast sites.

The Ethiopian Village is located in the Kabalagala district of Kampala, a popular night-life spot which was heaving with soccer fans watching the World Cup final between Spain and the Netherlands.
