117 jobs are to be created over the next three years at US firm Genworth Financial, which is based at the Shannon Industrial Zone in Co Clare.
The company, which is headquartered in the US state of Virginia, first opened in Shannon in 1997 and it currently employs 345 people.
Today's announcement will bring employment at the Shannon plant to 462.
Genworth Financial employs over 6,000 in 25 countries and is involved in the lifestyle protection business, which helps clients make repayments obligations on loans, mortgages and other credit products.
The announcement was made by Minister for Enterprise Batt O'Keeffe, who visited Shannon this morning.
He said the company's intention to increase its workforce in Shannon is an indication of the firm's long-term commitment to the area.
