The Central Bank Reform Bill and the Planning and Development (Amendment) Bill passed all stages in the Dáil today.
The Government won the Dáil vote on the Central Bank Reform Bill, by 69 votes to 65.
The legislation reforms the financial regulatory system and gives extra regulatory powers to the Central Bank.
The Bill will now go to the Seanad.
The Planning and Development Bill dealing with reform and better regulation of the planning process this afternoon passed Report and Final Stages by 72 votes to 59.
Junior Minister at the Dept of the Environment Ciarán Cuffe told the Dáil that the Bill is about reform and better regulation of the planning process.
Mr Cuffe said the process had failed in the past, hence the existence of NAMA and so-called ghost housing estates.
Opposition parties said the Bill is giving too much power to the Minister and the County Manager and taking power away from local people and councillors.
Civil Partnership legislation is being debated tonight.
The Opposition are not happy that the debates are being cut short without having all the proposed amendments discussed.
The Labour Party pointed out that the Planning Bill had 127 amendments.
One alone runs to ten pages long – compared to that of the controversial stag hunting ban bill, which was just one-and-a-half pages in length.
