A 28-year-old man has been before the District Court at Midleton, Co Cork, charged with dangerous driving causing the death of two men from Waterford last October.
Anthony Long of Leadington, Leamlara, Co Cork, was sent forward to the Circuit Criminal Court for sentencing later this month after he signed a plea of guilty.
Brendan Donnelly, 24, from Beech Drive, Greenfields, Waterford, but who was originally from Birr, Co Offaly, and 26-year-old Lee Salkeld, from Fairfield Park, Old Tramore Road, Waterford, were killed when a car driven by Long crashed into their car at Castlemartyr, east Cork, on 26 October.
Their partners were injured in the accident.
The dead men and their partners had been on their way to Cork Airport to get a flight to Amsterdam for a holiday.
