The SDLP leader and South Down MP and Assembly member Margaret Ritchie has formally resigned from the Stormont Executive.
Her position as Minister for Social Development has been taken by her party colleague, Alex Attwood, who represents west Belfast.
He has signed the pledge of office in the presence of Assembly Speaker William Hay and his appointment takes immediate effect.
