Gardaí have confirmed the body discovered in a field in Co Meath earlier this week is that of 17-year-old Daniel McAnaspie.
The Dublin teenager had been missing from his home since 25 February.
His body was found on land in Rathfeigh, off the N2 Dublin to Derry road, on Thursday afternoon.
A post-mortem examination revealed that he had suffered multiple stab wounds.
Gardaí have renewed their appeal for anyone with information in connection with his death to contact them.
