The town of Dungarvan is buzzing today with the news that the second largest ever lotto winning ticket was sold in the town.
The ticket worth €16,717,717 was bought yesterday afternoon at Eason's in the Dungarvan Shopping Centre.
The owner of the shop, Pat White, said the €6 quick pick winning ticket was bought by an individual and not by a syndicate.
Mr White spoke to the winner this morning by telephone and he said that the person was very emotional.
He also confirmed the winner lives in the locality.
The numbers drawn were 6, 13, 24, 33, 34 and 38. The bonus number was 9.
