300 jobs are to be created at call centre and outsourcing company Abtran in Co Cork.
The company, which describes itself as a 'business process outsourcer', was established 12 years ago and employs more than 1,000 people.
The 300 jobs have been promised over the next two years.
Abtran outsources activities for clients such as ESB, An Post, BSkyB and Aviva.
The jobs are the result of a €3m investment in research and development, which is being supported by Enterprise Ireland.
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation Batt O'Keeffe formally announced the jobs this afternoon.
