Small businesses that have had bank loans refused have been urged to contact the Credit Review Office.

The new Government body was established to get money flowing back into the economy.

The Credit Review Office will have the power to question banks involved in NAMA about credit applications that were rejected.

Borrowers can approach the review office via their website if they believe they have been treated unfairly by any of the banks availing of NAMA.

They will then seek information about the credit refusal and while they cannot force banks to change their mind, the bank will be required to comply with recommendations.
