The Passport Office on Molesworth Street in Dublin is expected to reopen on Thursday after it was closed due to flooding.
Staff at the office discovered the flooding, which was caused by a burst pipe, when they turned up for work this morning.
In a statement, the Department of Foreign Affairs said people who were due to collect a passport today from the Molesworth Street office can instead collect it from Hainault House, St Stephen's Green.
An emergency passport service is in operation at Iveagh House, St Stephen's Green, for genuine emergency cases, according to the statement.
