Talks at the Labour Relations Commission between unions and Mater Private Hospital Management, aimed at resolving the dispute over pay cuts, broke down last night.
The unions say pay cuts were unilaterally imposed from 1 January and they want them reversed.
A planned strike at is now expected to go ahead beginning on Monday from 7.30am.
Paul Bell, SIPTU said: ‘The strike on Monday will proceed as planned until we get a just resolution of all the issues involved.’
Speaking after the conclusion of the talks, Albert Murphy of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation said: ‘The INMO strike committee is satisfied that the necessary contingency plans for patient safety are in place.’
