The Government is to announce the details of a new inquiry into the banking crisis after its Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
On RTÉ Radio, Minister for Defence Willie O'Dea confirmed that ministers would finalise their decision on what form the inquiry would take. The Dáil will then be informed.
He also said that an Oireachtas inquiry was still a possibility.
