Aer Lingus pilots have voted to accept a €30m cost-reduction package that includes a 10% pay cut and up to 76 redundancies.
In a motion passed at their meeting this evening, the pilots acknowledged that some aspects of the report had given rise to concern. These include outsourcing, pensions and increments.
The Irish Airline Pilots' Association says it has taken specific legal advice on these matters and says that legal advice precludes them from recommending acceptance of those elements of the report.
The pilots have instructed their union to enter discussions with Aer Lingus management to address implementation of the proposed €30m cost savings.
The union says any final proposed agreement will be subject to a ballot.
They also thanked arbitrator Kieran Mulvey and his team at the Labour Relations Commission for their assistance in negotiating the agreement over Christmas.
