Schools around the country are deciding today whether to open tomorrow as planned or remain closed as a result of the adverse weather conditions.

Hundreds of Primary Schools have already contacted parents to say they will remain closed.
All schools were due to re-open tomorrow after the Christmas holiday, however the weather and its effect on roads means very many will remain closed.
The decision as to whether to open rests with individual Boards of Management, as a statement from the Department of Education issued yesterday made clear.

Where schools are open, the National Parents Council Primary has urged parents to make sensible decisions based on local road conditions when deciding whether to travel.
In relation to school transport, Bus Éireann says it will be making a decision as to the provision of services tomorrow morning based on local weather conditions.
