The Residence Members Club in Dublin has gone into examinership.

A spokesperson confirmed that the private club on St Stephens' Green is 'undergoing financial restructuring' but the club is open and it is 'business as usual'.

The exclusive club is owned by restaurateurs and twin brothers Christian and Simon Stokes.

Residence opened in 2008, charging members €1,250 a year, as well as an initial joining fee.

The club contains a cocktail bar, walled garden, meeting facilities, nightclub, lounge and a restaurant.

It also offers to cater for the 'lifestyle needs' of its members.
