Ireland’s leading medical devices company Creganna has announced the acquisition of US firm Tactx Medical.
The move means the Galway firm, which currently employs 550 people, will now be in the top ten global companies providing technologies for minimally-invasive surgery.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed but the combined revenue of Creganna and Tactx Medical amounted to $110m for 2009.
The partnership brings the number of staff employed worldwide to 800; almost two-thirds are employed in Galway.
