Minister of State with responsibility for Overseas Development Peter Power has delivered the keynote address at a special meeting to tackle the world's hunger crisis.

The meeting was held at the United Nations and was attended by more that 100 heads of state and ministers.

In his address, Mr Power stressed the importance of tackling the structural problems which cause food insecurity, rather than simply treating the symptoms of hunger.

He called for a global partnership to put hunger and food security at the centre of global development efforts.
