The report of the Commission on Taxation will be published on the Department of Finance website on Monday.
The decision to publish the report was taken at today's Cabinet meeting when ministers considered the contents of the report which, along with the recommendations of Colm McCarthy's group on cutbacks, will feed into the Cabinet’s deliberations.
The Commission, chaired by former head of the Revenue Commissioners Frank Daly, was established early last year with a remit to review the structure of the taxation system.
It has been widely reported as likely to recommend sweeping changes in the tax code and the introduction of a property tax as well as a carbon tax favoured by the Green Party.
However, Taoiseach Brian Cowen and Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan have distanced themselves from the former, while Mr Lenihan has said the current taxation burden is high enough.
Ministers were briefed on the recommendations today at their regular Cabinet meeting, which also discussed the progress of the National Asset Management Agency legislation.
RTÉ News understands that the Attorney General is considering changes in the Bill, which may see ministers meeting again later in the week.
Minister Lenihan appeared before a Joint Oireachtas Committee on Finance yesterday to answer questions on the proposed legislation.
