A Garda investigation is under way in Co Donegal following a gas leak in Letterkenny town last night.
It is thought the incident happened after a gas meter was maliciously pulled from a wall on Lower Main Street.
Emergency services were called to the scene after a strong smell of gas was reported.
Fire service officials said the leak was repaired by an engineer but warned there could have been a ‘massive explosion’ if there were any naked flames.
