Heavy rainfall overnight resulted in flooding in some parts of the country this morning.
Motorists were advised to take care on the roads especially in parts of the southeast, which was worst affected.
In Co Kilkenny, the River Dinin burst its banks at Dinin Bridge leaving the N77 Kilkenny to Ballyragget Road impassable. Gardaí attended the scene.
Earlier, the N78 Kilkenny to Castlecomber road was almost impassable due to flooding.
Elsewhere, heavy rain is falling in Connacht, particularly in Galway city and in parts of Munster.
AA Roadwatch says rivers are very full in some areas and motorists are urged to take care on roads close to the banks.
In Dublin, many routes were also very wet and motorists were advised to drive carefully.
Met Éireann has warned of more heavy rain this evening and tonight especially in central and eastern parts of the country.
