A man in his 50s has died after climbing Croagh Patrick in Co Mayo.
Mayo Mountain Rescue said the man, who was from the Midlands, took ill after reaching the summit of the mountain.
He was taken into the chapel by other climbers, who raised the alarm at around 12.30 this afternoon.
He was then airlifted by helicopter to hospital in Castlebar, where he was later pronounced dead.
