At least 21 people have been killed when two suicide bombers blew themselves up in a packed cafe in northern Iraq.

Iraqi officials said that at least 32 people were also wounded when the bombers detonated suicide belts packed with explosives in the cafe in the Kalaa neighbourhood of Sinjar town.

Sinjar, northwest of the insurgent stronghold of Mosul in northern Nineveh province, is predominantly populated by Yazidis, as well as by Arabs and Muslim Kurds.

On Monday 51 people were killed across Iraq, including 28 members of the Shabak sect cut down when two truck bombs detonated in the village of Khaznah outside of Mosul.

In a separate attack, two people were killed and 13 hurt by a motorcycle bomb in the southern Dora suburb of Baghdad, an interior ministry official said.
