A Sinn Féin spokesperson has said the party is deeply disappointed at the resignation of a second Dublin city councillor since the local elections.
Louise Minihan who was elected as a Sinn Féin candidate for Ballyfermot/Drimnagh issued a statement after her resignation at the weekend in which she accused the party of lacking commitment to its socialist and republican values.
Ms Minihan was co-opted onto Dublin City Council in 2007 after the resignation of another councillor for work reasons.
In a statement, Aengus Ó Snodaigh, Sinn Féin TD for Dublin South Central, said it is deeply disappointing that Ms Minihan waited until after the election to resign after winning her seat as a party member.
Sinn Féin has now lost two of its seven members elected to Dublin city council.
Christy Burke - the party's longest serving councillor in the country - resigned within days of last month's elections claiming a lack of support in his Dublin Central bye-election campaign.
