There are fears for the future of 120 jobs at the Meadow Meats processing factory in Rathdowney, Co Laois.
It follows a decision by the Dawn Meats Group to merge the boning hall at the factory with another plant 90km away in Co Waterford.
Workers said they have been offered redundancy or alternative employment in Co Waterford, but many say they will not be able to move.
The company says slaughtering at Meadow Meats will continue as normal.
