Howth Coast Guard have recovered a body following an incident on the cliffs at Balscadden in Howth.
A middle-aged man had fallen from the cliffs while descending with fishing gear.
Gardaí, Howth Coast Guard Cliff Rescue unit and Howth RNLI inshore Lifeboat responded to the scene.
However, the man had died at the scene from injuries sustained in the fall.
His body was transferred by members of the Howth Emergency services to the lifeboat and then removed by boat to the Lifeboat Station House.
Three rescued after Kerry cliff falls
Three men in their early 20s have been rescued after falling off cliffs in Co Kerry.
Ballybunion Sea & Cliff Rescue were called to Nuns beach in Ballybunion at around 5pm this evening.
Two of the men were taken from the water, after apparently trying to climb down the cliff to rescue their friend.
He had suffered back injuries and was airlifted from the cliffs by the coastguard helicopter.
He was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.
The two men rescued from the water had suffered cuts and bruises and have been taken to hospital in Tralee.
One was also suffering from hypothermia and is understood to have been unconscious when he was rescued.
It is understood the men were not locals and may have been tourists from the UK.
