A man in his 20s has died after the vehicle he was driving was involved in a collision with two other cars.
The incident happened around 7am this morning at Pike Bridge on the way into Leixlip village in Co Kildare, on the main Leixlip-Maynooth Road.
Two other people were injured, but their injuries are not life threatening.
The road has been closed pending a garda investigation and diversions are in place.
Today's death is the third on the Irish roads this bank holiday weekend.

The 23-year-old man killed in yesterday's collision in Limerick has been named as Wai Kit Kwong with an address in Easons Avenue, Shandon Street, Cork.
He was a Malaysian national.
Gardaí are appealing to motorists to take extra care when travelling over the Bank Holiday period.
