Jacob's ceased manufacturing in Ireland this afternoon following a gradual wind-down of production at its biscuits plant in Tallaght in Dublin.

Last year the company's parent, Jacob Fruitfield, announced it was to gradually move production of the famous biscuits out of the country, with the loss of 220 jobs.

Jacob's biscuits have been manufactured in Dublin for the past 156 years.

The company continues to employ around 100 people in Ireland in a variety of roles.
