More than 2m people have been forced to leave their homes because of fighting between the army and Taliban militants in the northwest of Pakistan.
Pakistani soldiers have nearly cleared the Taliban from a district only 100km away from the capital, Islamabad.
The Taliban moved into an area called Buner in early April. There were clashes with the police in an attempt to impose Taliban rule.
The fighting is so close to the capital that it has raised alarm within Pakistan and internationally.
The Pakistani government ordered the attack on the Taliban last month following pressure from the US to crush the militants in the northwest.
The military claims that 15,000 members of the security forces are fighting between 4,000 and 5,000 militants in the Swat district.
The UN has warned of a long-term humanitarian crisis among the displaced civilians and is calling for massive aid for the refugees.
