A company based in Athenry, Co Galway, has said it is to create 250 jobs over the next two years as part of a €20m expansion programme.
C&F is to design and manufacture wind turbines at the Galway facility.
The jobs include design, engineering, manufacturing, sales and after-sales.
The company currently employs 800 people worldwide with 180 at its Athenry headquarters.
The company is owned by John Flaherty, who won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2008.
He said: 'This move into wind energy and to be an original equipment manufacturer has been part of our strategy for some time. I believe this world-beating technology will give us a real competitive edge in a tough global marketplace.'
