Both sides in the dispute at the Lufthansa Technik Airmotive plant at Rathcoole in County Dublin are to meet for talks in the factory tomorrow morning.
The move followed talks by management and the three unions at the company, UNITE, SIPTU, and TEEU, at the National Implementation Body.
In a statement, the NIB said it recommended that both parties engage in urgent and intensive discussions to allow a $40m contract for a new engine to proceed and the 465 jobs which are currently at risk to be secured.
The NIB said the discussions should be concluded by Tuesday at the latest, and that no action should be taken by either side in the interim that might jeopardise the achievement of a successful outcome.
The NIB will continue to monitor the situation closely.
