An investigation is underway after two fishermen lost their lives off the Co Galway coast.

The two were checking lobster pots off Aughris point, near Clifden, when they went missing.

An upturned currach was located close to the point, at Omey Island this morning.

Their bodies were recovered this afternoon.

The men have been named as Tony Coohill and Feichín Mulkerrin who were both married and from Claddaghduff.
