An enlarged area of restricted parking for major events at Croke Park is to be considered by Dublin city councillors.
A previous 2km cordon was opposed by residents immediately outside the restricted zone, who feared that parking problems would be displaced to their areas.
Council officials are now proposing to extend the area to include East Wall and move the northern boundary towards Cabra, Finglas, Ballymun and Killester.
Residents and those working in the area would be allowed to park on street through the use of permits.
Residents would also get one permit for a visitor.
However, the amended proposals would mean that motorists attending events at Croke Park can park in the area if they use pay and display parking bays.
The proposed changes are due to be considered by the council's transport committee on Thursday.
